About Me
When I was five years old my grandfather would let me go to his workshop in the basement with him. He would bring out a board of wood, and a bag of acrylics for me to paint with. I would sit and paint and draw for hours. While I was in high school I took as many art classes as my schedule allowed. One of my teacher's taught me that it doesn’t matter how well you can draw as long as your presentation is good, you have great determination, and you use your imagination to influence your work.
My main interests are in drawing, painting and 3-d design. My creative influences and ideas for my artwork come from my life experiences, and my imagination. I attended Kennesaw State University for a BS in Art Education. I graduated in December 2009. I currently teach art at a Charter school for in need students, but I am always trying to continue to work on my own artwork, and sell it. |
I draw inspiration from the things that make me feel strongly in some way. I also enjoy creating still lives of things that draw my attention. I feel that the placement of objects in a still life can evoke emotions for the creator, and the viewer. When I see dramatic placement of color or objects I always feel an urge to draw them. Other viewers, I believe, are affected in a similar way. One of the goals of my work is to generate some type of emotion from the viewer. I want them to feel the emotion coming from the artwork as I do. I enjoy using many different mediums because I end up making better work when I can choose from a plethora of materials. I create art because it is what I love to do. It's my therapy. Art is a great passion of mine because I'm drawn to it, it's part of who I am.
